Lewys Steward - Sports Coaching - Qualifications and Experience
SPORTS COACHING QUALIFICATIONS
I am a Football Association of Wales Leader accredicted coach.
I have a full current CRB certificate and can coach any age group
UNIVERSITY
As part of my Sports Studies University course I have spent time with local schools in Worcester assisting in the coaching of various sports including spending a number of weeks working within the disabled community and schools.
SOCCER
I am a Football Association of Wales Leader accredited coach and I have been involved in coaching junior soccer teams for Pencoed Boys Club for a number of years. I was part of the successful coaching team which resulted in the Pencoed Under 11’s becoming League and Cup Winners.
RUGBY
I have played rugby at various levels up to county standard since I was 4 years old. I have also played in a number of countries including France, South Africa (twice under head coach Simon King) and Canada.
Between September and December 2013 I spent a long vacation in Toronto during which I took the opportunity to research working opportunities in Canada. During that time I also joined the Oakville Crusaders Rugby Club playing for them in their successful run in the McCormick Cup Consolation provincial competition helping them to win the final.
I have also coached rugby at various levels from 3 years old (RugbyTots) to adult (University of Worcester and Malvern RFC development teams). In the summer of 2010 I joined the teaching staff of
Pencoed Comprehensive School to support them as a coach on the Senior Rugby Tour to South Africa. My main roles involved fitness training and backs coaching taking sessions during the numerous
training sessions. I was also able to call upon my previous experiences of playing in South Africa in 2006
